The Avalon Instruments X-Guider is a high precision micrometric head for guide scopes, camera lenses and compact telescopes. It features an impressive load capacity of 6Kg and is very lightweight at only 550g.
Unlike conventional guide scope rings which rely on pushing screws on to the body of the tube, the Avalon X-Guider features a dovetail mounting system (Vixen GP 45mm size) for a quick-release attachment/detachment of the guide scope.
Off-Axis adjustment range +/- 5°. Includes Vixen style dovetail clamp.

I recently purchased an Avalon Instruments M-Zero used, and got the X-Guider thrown in with it... I use an off axis guider, and so I didn't immediately have a use for the x-guider, however, I can say with certainty that this piece of equipment has thouroughly impressed me.
All the movement controls are very stable and easy to adjust... more importantly, they adjust in very smooth, fine increments, making subtle alignment changes an absolute breeze to perform.
I couldn't be happier with it overall, and will likely be using it to add a wide field second setup under my main imaging scope for a different field of view.
Avalon still hits the mark. Instrument of excellent workmanship, very precise, easy to handle and intuitive. very stable both in height, where there is the possibility of fixing it with screws, and in azimuth, with double possibility of spring fixing and with screws.
