The RiFAST 300 is an astrograph with a new revolutionary optical design proprietary of Officina Stellare, designed by Massimo Riccardi.
OPTICAL DESIGN
The primary mirror is aspherical and the secondary mirror is spherical, a precise design to make collimation easier. The RiFAST includes a 3 elements flattener of which 2 are aspherical and it is placed near the focus position to avoid any chromatic aberration.
The telescope is a native f/3.8 with a flat field up to 60mm. The scope has the option to be used with a dedicated 0.78x reducer (XTFR078) or a 1.5x extender (XTFE15-300).

MECHANICAL PERFORMANCE
The collimation is stable as ever before due to an improved mechanical design. Every RiFAST is tested under the sky and is tested in Officina Stellare's factory, ensuring a perfect collimation.
The secondary mirror can be motorized for focusing, leaving the imaging train fixed as screwed to the backplate, a good solution for heavy cameras and accessories. It is also possible to install a tip-tilt mechanism.
Remote observers can upgrade their RiFAST with optional primary mirror shutters to avoid moisture and dust deposit on the telescope’s mirror when not in use.
