The Sharpstar 61EDPH-III APO is a fast apochromatic triplet with a focal ratio of f/5.9 and a focal length of 360mm. The newly-redesigned objective lens includes two Extra-Low Dispersion elements for excellent colour correction.
This telescope is light and compact, making it perfect for small equatorial mounts such as the Sky-Watcher Star Adventurer GTI. For imaging, two correctors are available - a 1x field flattener and a 0.75x reducer (both sold separately), the latter resulting in a wide focal length of 270mm and the focal ratio f/4.4. These correctors are specifically designed for the Mark III version and deliver an exceptionally large corrected image circle of 44mm, making it suitable for full-frame sensors.
The large 2.5" rack and pinion focuser can be rotated 360° and has a reduction gear of 1:10 for precise focusing. The focuser is compatible with the ZWO EAF electronic focuser bracket.
The telescope includes a 200mm long Vixen-style dovetail bar to make balancing easier with heavy image trains. Also included is a multifunctional handle which acts as a finder-style saddle for guide scopes and other accessories.
All the lenses are fully multi-coated and the tube is internally blackened to reduce reflections and absorb stray light. The tube is made of aluminium, the rack and pinion focusing mechanism of brass and the mechanical components are engineered to provide the best rigidity, performance and durability.
