The ZWO ASI 174MM is a professional monochrome planetary camera with a large sensor that is ideal for capturing images of the sun and moon.
The ZWO ASI 174MM contains the Sony Exmor IMX174 CMOS monochrome sensor which has a diagonal of 13.2mm and a resolution of 2.35 MPx.
The sensor has a maximum QE up to 77% with a sensitivity across all the visible light as well as in infrared and part of the ultraviolet between 300 nm and 400 nm.
The USB 3.0 Port provides 5Gbps bandwidth and lets the camera run at 128fps (12bit, normal mode) or 164fps (10bit, high speed mode) at full resolution (2.35Mega). For planets that cover a small area of the sensor, the fps can be increased by selecting a small ROI (region of interest). Frame rate can be limited by the power of the computer and the writing speed of your hard disk. For higher performance it is suggested to use Solid State Drives.
This camera is equipped with a ST4 port as a guiding alternative.
The Pregius Global Shutter function with analog memory allows to scan all pixels simultaneously. The Sony IMX174’s global shutter function provides improved image quality for moving objects of fast image distortions caused by poor seeing.
