The ZWO ASI 294MM PRO is a highly versatile monochrome cooled camera with a large sensor which is ideal for wide field astrophotography. This new mono version of the ASI294 features the Sony IMX492 back-illuminated sensor which is natively binned 2x2 to give 4.63 µm pixels, ideal for long focal length telescopes, but can be unbinned to give small 2.3 µm pixels for wide focal length scopes such as refractors.
The ASI294MM Pro has an outstanding QE value with a peak of 90%, ultra-low read noise of 1.2e- and full well capacity of 66,387e-. The camera has a 14-bit ADC with a high dynamic range of 13 stops, higher than the popular ASI1600MM Pro.
When the gain value is set to 120, HCG high gain mode is turned on. In this mode the readout noise will be largely decreased (as low as 1.2e), and the dynamic range is basically unchanged.
Bin2 (The default mode): 14bit ADC, 4.6um pixel size, 11.7 megapixels, 4144*2822 resolution, 66k full well capacity.
Unlocked Bin1: 12bit ADC, 2.3um pixel size, 47 megapixels, 8288*5644 resolution, 14k full well capacity.
The USB 3.0 Port provides 5Gbps bandwidth and lets the camera run at 16.3fps at full resolution (11.7 Megapixel).
The USB 2.0 Hub allows to connect 2 USB controlled accessories such as a filter wheel, a guiding camera or an electronic focuser, reducing the amount of cables that run directly from your computer.
The 2 stages TEC cooling system allows a ΔT of 35°C-40°C below air temperature.
Note: All cooled ZWO cameras require an external power supply of 12V at 3-5A with a 2.1×5.5 mm connector (positive tip).
